A loan of $350 helped to buy enough bread, soft drinks, etc. for her business.

Oretha's story

Oretha is 44 years old and has 3 children whose ages are between 19 and 29. She runs her business from New Kru town, one of the oldest communities in Liberia. Living conditions there are a bit difficult due to the high rate of crime, insufficient bathroom facilities, unsanitary conditions, and overpopulation; but at the same time rooms are a bit cheaper, travel options are plentiful, the area contains one of the biggest markets in Liberia, and food prices are low. She started this business selling bread, soft drinks, and more 7 years ago. With the loan proceeds she will buy enough bread, soft drinks, etc. for her business. She started this business with a little money from her friends, and she learned this business from her friend. She enjoys how fast her goods always sell. Her dream is to open her own shop.
