A loan of $3,825 helped a member to buy corn and tools for maintenance.

Las Domingueras Group's story

Berlin is a 29-year-old married woman. She lives with her eight-year-old daughter and her husband in the Department of Suchitepequez. She is on the right side of the photograph, the last woman in the line.

She says that she makes a living by providing milling service (this serves to grind cooked corn to turn it into flour). She now has ten years of experience, and decided to do this work because the service didn't exist in her community. So far it's been quite profitable in terms of generating income and earnings.

She has now realized that this business is quite productive, so she has made the decision to form a group to start new businesses that help the families of the group members, with the intention of improving their finances. She will use the loan to buy corn and tools for maintenance.

Her dream is to buy another mill so it can generate more income for her and also improve the service to her customers.
