Nasreen's Group
In this Group: Nasreen, Nasreen, Kaniz
Nasreen is the leader of Nasreen's Group. She is a 52-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. Her husband is a very hard-working man and he loves his family very much. He is involved in his own business to have a regular income for the family. He is involved in making and selling furniture, such as single beds and tables. He started this business from a young age, now he has grown old and weak, as well.

Today, Nasreen's husband has many regular customers and he also takes orders from other cities. This business yields a good income for her husband, but her family's needs are increasing day by day and she needs more money to afford household expenses.

Now, Nasreen wants to buy more raw materials for her husband to make furniture in order to expand the business. This is why she came to BRAC Pakistan and she wishes to obtain a loan, so that her husband can buy raw materials, such as chip boards, timbers, and planks for marking furniture. She hopes that this loan will prove beneficial and productive for his business, as well as for his family.

Nasreen gives thanks to Kiva and its field partner, BRAC Pakistan, for this honorable support.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
