A villager from a rural area located in the Kampong Cham province’s Ponhea Krek district, Ramo is 23 years old and is married with one kid. She earns a living through farming rice and growing cassava. Together, she and her spouse can earn about KHR 56,000 per day from the current business and can save about KHR 29,000 each day for future needs.
Ramo is just with VisionFund for one cycle. Now she is asking for a loan to buy hairdressing supplies and barber equipment in order to run a hair salon shop. She hopes this loan will enable her to run a new shop successfully in order to earn more income for her family.
About VisionFund Cambodia
VisionFund Cambodia is a Christian organization and microfinance institution that provides small loans and other financial services to improve the lives of children, empower poor women and their families, and grow successful businesses. The organization works primarily in rural parts of Cambodia and has distinguished itself by targeting the very poor who require smaller loan sizes, regardless of religious beliefs, gender or ethnic background.
Kiva lenders’ funds will help the organization to expand into the northeastern provinces of the country, which have historically been underserved and difficult to reach with financial services.
