A loan of $1,075 helped to expand and improve her livestock business by purchasing a pedigree bull.

Khalimahon's story

Khalimahon M. lives in the Spitamen region of Tajikistan, and she is a schoolteacher by professional background. She is married, and she has one child. She first applied to MicroInvest for a loan earlier in 2008, when she heard about MicroInvest and the way in which its loans are disbursed. Thanks to the previous loan she secured and successfully repaid, she was able to improve her family's living conditions.

Unfortunately, it is difficult to get by on a schoolteacher's salary alone, so Khalimahon is also engaged in the livestock business. Indeed, she has a good flock of animals, and she takes care of her animals so that she can sell milk products from such animals at the local bazaar on weekends. In fact, she has been involved in the livestock business for 10 years, and over that span she has acquired important business skills.

At present, Khalimahon wants to buy a pedigree bull, but she does have enough money to do so. Therefore, she is applying for a business development loan through Kiva in the amount of 3,600 STJ ($1,075) over 3 months. She thanks you for your support.
