Om-Iman Group's story

Om-Iman is a group consisting of five women who live in Sana'a, Yemen. They applied for a loan of 210,000 YER from Al-Amal Microfinance Bank. Latifa is a 43-years-old mother with two children who live in a small house. She is the leader of the group. Her husband passed away several years ago and she depends entirely on her husband's very low retirement pension. She is illiterate. She hopes that once her children finish their education, they will be able to help her. Latifa wants to improve her house and purchase some furniture. She feels shy when others look at her unorganized kitchen. She plans to buy a kitchen cabinet to organize her kitchen, but she can't afford that. She applied for 50,000 YER from AMB. She looks forward to providing her family with better living conditions and opening a savings account to accumulate money for her son in the future.
