A loan of $1,500 helped to buy soybean skin that makes up part of the feed for her livestock.

Juana Maria's story

Juana is 55 years old. She is a very hard-working and responsible person. She is a widow with three children, of whom two live with her. They collaborate on dairy farming. Through the years, she has built and maintained her dairy farm in the most traditional part of Cochabamba. In this work, the fodder is lacking at many points in the year. As she cannot count on many financial resources, she requests this loan to buy soybean skin that makes up part of the feed for her livestock and is essential for her to produce the milk with all of her resources. She can count on good cows, but remains without capital for supplies because she built troughs and a shed for the cows, which are otherwise unprotected in very hot weather or in heavy rain, that inundates this area at this time. In this way, she will succeed in increasing her income and improving her and her family’s quality of life.
