A loan of $1,625 helped to buy electrical materials and DIY goods.

Stanley Alonso's story

Alonso is 45 years old and lives with his parents in Santo Domingo de los Tsachilas, a coastal city with a pleasant climate. There is a lot of business in this city, with a transport terminal that brings together the country's highlands and coastal area.
Alonso separated from his partner a number of years ago, and his children live with their mother in another city. This distance has not made Alonso neglect his children, though, and he is always supporting them.
Alonso maes a living selling electrical items and DIY goods. He goes around the areas near the city to sell his goods, and also sells seafood during certain seasons. Alonso has a number of regular customers. He goes around to sell his goods three times per week.
Alonso needs a loan in order to buy materials such as cables, water pumps and blowtorches but, due to a lack of capital he has not been able to buy these items. Alonso has come to "Fundación Alternativa", who were able to help him.
Alonso is incredibly grateful to "Fundación Alternativa" and to Kiva for helping him to expand and improve his business. Alonso dreams that, in the future, he will have his own premises.
