Marilyn earns a living from helping her husband work on their own farm for a living. For six years, Marilyn earned well and was able to improve the farm. Her husband also work in their village as a carpenter, and he earns extra income. To buy fertilizer, she took loan from GDMPC micro-credit. She hopes to have more returns from her farm in order to generate additional income for the purpose of improving the general living conditions of her family.
Gata Daku Multi-Purpose Cooperative (GDMPC) was founded in 1992 by 32 farmer-members to empower people by providing livelihood opportunities and other support services. Today, it has over 15,000 members located in upland, lowland and coastal regions of the Philippines, and offers credit, savings, education, and various social services.
