Mayra Cristina's story

Mayra is 36 years old. She has two children who are school-aged. Her partner is a laborer. She works in a community called the Tololar. She has worked for a state institution for 10 years where she works as a janitor. She is assigned a specific area to keep it in immaculate condition. She told us that before she worked this job at City Hall, she studied in high school and worked as a housemaid until she had to support her children. Because of their scare economic resources, she has turned to loans and has used them in helpful ways. They have enabled her to make improvements to her home and also to pay her mother's medical expenses to cover a surgery and medicines. Mayra aims to finish her house with the help of loans. She wants to improve the quality of life of herself and her children.
