Salvadora De Jesus's story

Sra. Salvadora is 49 years old. She is unmarried and has three children, of whom one is still dependent on her. She is also responsible for two of her grandchildren. Doña Salvadora is a hardworking and enterprising woman, who is struggling to succeed. She mentioned that since she was very young, she did washing and ironing because she had to support her three children and underwrite their studies through her work.

However, it was not until two years ago that she obtained a job in a government institution, where she works as caretaker in a maternal home. There she is in charge of keeping the place clean and in addition of fixing meals for the pregnant women.

In addition to her steady job, she has also been operating a small business (selling basic grains, detergents, soft drinks) in her home for two years. It is on behalf of her business that she is requesting a loan. Her objective is to expand her business, which is currently being run by one of her daughters. Her goal is that her business prosper so that her earnings will increase and provide her children and grandchildren with a better life.
