Juana Margarita's story

The San Vicente Credit Group meets every fifteen days in Picoaza parish in the city of Portoviejo. This is a place known for its trade, traditional San Pedro and San Pablo festivals, and happy inhabitants.

Juana lives here. She is 56 years old, and is married with four grown-up and independent sons, three of whom she had with her husband. Her husband is a driver. Juana is a housewife, who, in order to make some money of her own and to help out her husband with household expenses, sells clothes, shoes, handbags, and other items which are sent to her from the USA. She also sells Yanbal products (beauty products, cosmetics, perfumes and women's accessories). She is a door-to-door seller, and also sells items from her home, which is visited by her customers every time she receives a shipment of goods. She sells her products on credit and collects the money every eight days.

She has been in this business for over ten years, which is why she has a good customer base. She will use the loan to buy clothes, shoes, perfumes, creams and cosmetics. She has been a member of the Credit Group for over ten years and she likes it because the loan repayments are easy to make. Her dream is to own a boutique.
