A loan of $650 helped to buy airtime cards for retail and food items for retails.

Raymande's story

Raymande is separated from her husband and is a mother of six children. She lives with her children in a two bedroom apartment in the Bamenda Mezam Division of the northwest region of Cameroon. She has faced so many challenges in life, including inadequate finances to start up a business of her own as well as catering to her family's needs, family problems, and overcoming the sicknesses and deaths of family members.

She has taken and successfully repaid four loans and says with this new loan requested, she will expand her small business activities by buying airtime cards for retail and food items, like beans, maize, rice, tomatoes, and onions, for her small store. She holds a positive view of her business succeeding, because she has experience gained from the previous loans. She has a good and strategic business location and has regular customers who buy from her. With this activity, she plans to supply the best to her community.

With the profit from this loan, she will cater for her family needs, ensure her children's education, expand her business, and also save some money to undertake bigger investment. She prefers loans from GHAPE because of low interest rates and convenient repayment intervals. Also, members are trained on marketing and management skills before the loans are disbursed. Finally, GHAPE also assists with the social needs of members.
