Elsa María's story

Elsa is 30 years old, married and has 3 children aged 6, 10 and 13. She lives with her husband and children in the community of Rumi Loma which belongs to the Guaranda Canton, Bolivar Province. She is a member of the "Reyna del Cisne" communal bank which is located in the community of Rumi Loma, 30 minutes from the Guaranda regional office. It is composed of 10 members who are farmers.

Elsa is a farmer. She works in the cattle business. She is asking for a loan to buy more cattle. Buying is done every 8 days in Guaranda and sales happen in the plaza of Guanujo every week. Her goals are to get ahead with her family and expand her business. Her challenge is the animals getting sick. In her spare time she likes to arrange the house and she really likes carnival.
