A loan of $275 helped to purchase more flour, sugar, oil, charcoal, etc., to grow her sales.

Yatta's story

Yatta is 42 years old and lives in Montserrado County, which has the largest free port and is the number one commercial county in Liberia. She is unmarried with two children, ages 14 and 17 years old. They are attending school and live at home.

She has been frying and selling sweet-bar, (doughnut) calla, and fred chicken for the past ten years in the local market. She says her main challenge is the transportation cost. She started this business with money given to her by her fiance and she learned this business from her friends. Her favorite part about her business is that it gives her money and what makes her proud is that it enables her to take care of children.

She is requesting this loan to purchase more flour, sugar, oil, charcoal, etc. to grow her sales.

She plans to build a house for children in future. She would like to say thanks to the supporters of BRAC Liberia.
