M. Hussain's story

M. Hussain is a milk seller by profession. He has been expanding his cattle herd through breeding. Now he has a few buffaloes, cows, sheep and goats. He has increased his milk production and sells scapegoats to butchers. He is famous in his hometown due to the quality and freshness of his milk. He preserves some milk for household use.

M. Hussain is 56 years old. He is a father to five children. Now he has grown old and weak as well. Most of the time he is sick and cannot perform his duties to produce and sell milk. M. Hussain wants to give his obligations to his younger son so that he can continue the business. Before handing over the business, M. Hussain wants to do maintenance on his cowshed and complete the herd. For this reason, he wants to buy an additional buffalo.

M. Hussain has requested a second loan with BRAC and KIVA for his dairy farm to buy a buffalo. With the profit, he will do maintenance on the cowshed. He is very happy about receiving this loan, because the new buffalo will expand the heard and reduce the shortage of milk. He thanks KIVA and field partner, BRAC Pakistan.
