A loan of $225 helped a member buy condiments.

Yeredeme Group's story

The Yeredeme group is comprised of seven married women. On average, they are 26 years old and have four children. They live in extended traditional families in the village of Meridiela.

They know one another through neighbors, friendship, and business. In order to strengthen their financial capacity and better run their business., they joined the microfinance institution Soro Yiriwaso. This is their fifth loan, and the four previous loans were properly repaid.

This group of women sells condiments through Sitan, the woman standing at right in the photo. With her loan, she would like to buy many different types of condiments from the wholesalers in Bougouni. She sells at the market and out of her home, for retail and credit, and to a mixed clientele.

She would like to earn an average monthly profit of 9,000 FCFA that she will use to reinvest in the business and reimburse the loan.

In this group: Saly, Sitan, Nian, Matou, Djenebou, Minata, Mah
