A loan of $225 helped a member buy culinary oil.

Tiessiri Group's story

The Tiessiri group consists of four married women who on average are 36 years old with four children. They live in traditional extended families in the village of Meridiela.

They became acquainted through neighborhood ties, friendship and commerce. To strengthen their financial capacity to improve their businesses, they joined the Soro Yiriwaso institution where they are on their third loan. The two previous loans were repaid in full.

This group of women sells culinary oil like Yiritio, who is the first person standing from right to left in the photo. She intends to use her loan to buy 25 liters of culinary oil from wholesalers in Bougouni. She conducts her retail sales at market and at home, for cash and on credit to a mixed clientele.

She expects to attain average monthly profits of 15,000 CFA francs, to be invested in the business and used to repay the loan.

In this group: Yiritio, Djeneba, Komba, Fatoumata
