Fassodeme Group's story

The Fassodeme group consists of four married women who on average are 22 years old with three children. They live in traditional extended families in the village of Meridiela.

They became acquainted through neighborhood ties, friendship and commerce. To strengthen their financial capacity to improve their businesses, they joined the Soro Yiriwaso institution where they are on their second loan. The previous loan was repaid in full.

This group of women sells grain like Yate, who is the third person standing from left to right in the photo. She intends to use her loan to buy 250 kg of rice from wholesalers in Meridiela. She conducts her retail sales at market and at home, for cash and on credit to a mixed clientele.

She expects to attain average monthly profits of 12,000 CFA francs, to be invested in the business and used to repay the loan.
