A loan of $625 helped to buy toiletries, women's accesories, plastic home products, etc.

Dubys's story

Dubys is a merchant who sells a varied range of goods. She lives in the city with her husband and three children, ages 13 to 18 who she wants to see become successful professionals. In 2004 she began her entrepreneurial experience to help her husband manage the household economy. She took advantage of the fact that as a young girl she was exposed to merchandise sales at her parents home. She sells on both a credit and cash basis, and buys her products in the city center or by specialized catalogues. Her main items are cosmetics, toiletries, cookware, plastic home products, and lingerie. She has been able to increase her work capital and stay in business in the market for ten years.

Her goal is to attract more customers so she has requested a CrediKiva loan, her first, through the Mario Santo Domingo Foundation. She will use it to buy toiletries, women's accessories, plastic home products, etc. She will sell them to neighbors and people from other communities who are referred to her. This will help increase her income so she can see her children prosper as successful professionals.
