A loan helped a member to buy garments to sell.

Majeeda's Group's story

Majeeda is a 54-year-old married woman, living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan. She is the mother of four; her husband is doing a job in a nearby factory.

She owns a small business selling ladies ready-made garments at home. She purchased ready-made garments from the market, along her husband, at a low price, and sells it at a high price. The ladies of the town like her clothing selection for dresses, and demand more variety to wear at wedding ceremonies. She suggests to the ladies which dress best suits the person and which should be worn according to occasion.

Her husband is able to cover all of the expenses from his earnings, so she contributes her earnings to savings.

She has requested a loan so she can buy a bigger variety of garments to fulfill the demand.

Majeeda dreams of a bright future for her children; her dream to provide better facilities for them.

She is very thankful to Kiva and field partner BRAC Pakistan.
