Kinyobwa Nyekundire is a new group located in Nyanga parish, Rubaare Ntungamo district. It is composed of men and women whose major activities are rearing goats and a banana plantation. They get little income from their businesses due to poor farming methods and poor breeds. Their prime goal is to yield high output from their plantations, also to take their children to better schools in the country. But they are limited by capital and funds to enable them to achieve their dreams, so they came for the loan to buy good breeds of goats, and manure so as to improve on their production and income in the long run.

Jolly will use the loan to buy organic manure for her banana plantation so that she can improve her output and achieve better yields since she anticipates higher sales in the next few months.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
