A loan of $2,300 helped to buy calves.

Akylay's story

Akylay is 28 years old, and married with three children. She has a high school education. Her family's main income comes from livestock, a business she started nine years ago by buying cattle for 10,000 KGS.

Through hard work, her business now consists of two dairy cows and 16 goats, as well as a fruit orchard where she grows apples and plums. She sells the fruit to wholesalers. Her monthly income is 10,000 KGS. Akylay has applied for a loan from Bai-Tushum micro-finance bank to buy breeding calves to expand her business.

She plans to use the extra income to invest in expanding her herd and buying the supplies to build a new holding space for the cattle.
