Heriberto is a married man and the father of two children for whom he has fought long and hard to get them ahead. At 57 years of age, he has 30 years of experience gaining skill as a technician and independent salesperson of household electronics. He learned the job by doing it, and little by little he increased his knowledge. His shop is located in his home. In addition to doing service repairs, he also buys broken household electronics, repairs them, and then sells them at a higher price, thus earning income for his family's expenses.
He will use the money from the loan to buy second-hand household electronics, such as televisions, radios, and irons. This will let him repair them and then later sell them for income, which he will reinvest in his business and use to provide his wife and children with a comfortable living.

Es por esta razón que solicita el crédito, el dinero será utilizado en la compra de electrodomésticos de segunda mano (televisores, radios, planchas), esto le permitirá repararlos y luego venderlos para obtener ganancias, con las que podrá seguir reinvirtiendo en su negocio y además brindar un mejor bienestar a sus hijos y esposa.

This loan is structured on Kiva as a bullet loan, which means a single payment is required at the end of the loan term. By Colombian law, Kiva's partner Interactuar is required to offer borrowers loans with a variable interest rate that fluctuates with the market rate. Because fixed monthly payments are applied first to interest and then to principal, Interactuar is unable to predict upfront what portion of each repayment would go towards the loan principal. This creates a challenge with Kiva's system, which doesn't allow for unpredictable principal payments, and can result in some Interactuar clients appearing falsely delinquent. To remedy this, the loan has an end-of-term repayment plan on Kiva, but the borrower will continue scheduled monthly repayments to Interactuar, who will then pass along the principal amount to Kiva lenders. This means that you may see repayments made on this loan throughout the repayment term, as opposed to receiving repayment in full at the end of the loan term.
