A loan of $800 helped to purchase watermelon seeds, fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide to cultivate his watermelon crop.

Marcos's story

Marcos, 35, didn’t have the opportunity to study. He has a life partner who is a homemaker and they have 3 children, the eldest is 11 and studies in the fifth grade, the second child is in first grade and the youngest child is 2 1/2 years old. Marcos is a farmer and has been growing watermelon and corn for 6 years because that is the crop that is sown in the area, and it provides a bit more income. His workplace is 2km from his house and he works from 6-11 in the morning.

He needs this loan to purchase watermelon seeds, fertilizer, pesticide and herbicide to cultivate his watermelon crop. He could have a better harvest, obtain better income and purchase the necessities for his house.

He dreams that his crop is well-planted, has a good harvest and with the income he can have his own cornfield. He wants his children to study and become professionals and have a good life.
