A loan of $2,100 helped to start an animal husbandry business and to purchase a lamb.

Sanovbar's story

Sanovbar is a married woman and is 38 years old. She and her family live in J. Rumy. Sanovbar wants to open her own business - she intends to take out a loan and to start raising sheep. A large portion of the population of Tajikistan has, since ancient times, engaged in agricultural activities. Because 93% of the state is covered in mountains, and because businesses are located only on the plains, animal husbandry and farming continue to be popular in Tajikistan. To this day, agriculture remains the major source of income for people living in the mountains. Sanovbar, using the climate of her native land, wants to start and to continue to engage in such pursuits. The climate and nature of Tajikistan promote the healthy growth of plants and animals. Sanovbar hopes that, with help, she can begin these activities, and that she can help her husband provide for their family.
