Esther's story

Meet 33-year-old Esther from Masuba, Northern area in Sierra Leone. She is married. In 2003, Esther established her local food business. She was a housewife and she began her business because she wanted to get money to help her husband in running the home. She works at the business 11 hours per day, 6 days per week. She says that her business is doing well.

Esther requires a loan in order to purchase more bags of beans, native rice and pepper for resale. She hopes that the extra income from this loan will allow her to take care of her family welfare and increase her business. In the future, Esther plans to expand her business even more.
