Dúo Luz En Mi Camino Group
In this Group: Maria Estefana, Maria Martina
DÚO LUZ EN MI CAMINO [Light in My Path Duo]

The woman in charge of this group is María Martina, who has made a living for the last eleven years by selling cosmetics in general, such as lotions, shampoo, deodorants, colognes, powders for women and men and hair extensions of various qualities. She also sells soap in powder and bar form. She has gotten various requests for lotions and perfumes because the month of friendship is approaching, in which she takes advantage of the sales in order to have good earnings. She doesn't have enough money to request the items from the catalogs of cosmetics that she sells, and sees the need to ask for a loan to be able to buy more products and offer her customers a variety of things. Her husband supports her with everything and her children help her to sell, as she is an itinerant saleswoman at the moment. Her dream is to have her own place on the side of the highway and not to walk around anymore.

About FAPE

FAPE, the Foundation for the Assistance of Small Businesses, is a nonprofit, socially-minded institution that provides loans to micro-entrepreneurs across Guatemala.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
