A loan of $725 helped buy food ingredients for his catering business.

Elvis Noel's story

27-year old Elvis is single and has a young son. He is a native of El Sauce located in the northern part of the country. He is known as a hardworking, responsible person who is eager to get ahead in life. Sadly, because of a lack of money, he wasn't able to take any job training courses and had to start work at a young age to help with household expenses. Currently he works hard every day to provide his son with the opportunities that he didn't have. One if his dreams is to pay for a good education for his son to help him grow up to be a good citizen.

Thanks to his efforts and his wish to do well, Elvis has a business selling home-cooked food from his house such as beef stew, fried chicken, breaded meat, meat pie, rice dishes, fried plantains, banana pie, meat with potatoes, cannelloni and other local dishes.

Elvis spends about twelve hours daily at work from early in the morning to prepare the food ready to sell to students and business workers. He plans to spend the loan money on ingredients such as plantain bananas, chili sauce, cheese, meat, beans, potatoes, cabbage, tomatoes, onions etc. as he wishes to earn more money.

Elvis is grateful to Kiva donors who help people from poor countries such as Nicaragua with their businesses.
