A loan of $1,600 helped to buy seeds and fertilizers for growing corn, to improve the roof of his house, and to buy concentrated fish feed.

José Neftali's story

José is 54 years old. He was able to study until the third grade, since in that time, due to lack of economic resources, it was difficult for his family to offer him the education he should have had. At the age of 18 he met the woman who is now his wife. They have four children, of which three are in primary school and the fourth is in secondary school.

José has 41 years of experience working in agriculture and aquaculture. He learned from his grandfather, who raised him and who did this same work. Now this is José's main source of income, with which he supports his family. Two of his children join him in this work; he is teaching them so that they can manage the family business in the future. His children help him when they have finished their homework.

The loan he is requesting now will be used for agricultural work, to buy seeds and fertilizers to grow corn, which he tends using an irrigation system. He will also use the loan to improve his house, as winter is coming and the roof has some damaged areas. And he will also invest the loan in the purchase of concentrated fish feed.

His future plans are mainly to support his children's education until they graduate from university, to improve and grow his fish farming, and to diversify his agricultural crops. He will achieve all this through efficient use of his profits and good administration of a new loan.
