A loan of $1,500 helped to build a hygienic latrine and septic tank.

Saray's story

Saray is 35 years old and a resident living in a small village of Kralanh, Siem Reap province. She is married to Lout, a 35-year-old farmer and a loving father of two school-going children. Saray operates a rice farming business and earns additional income from rice trading. From her current businesses she is able to earn well for her family.

Saray wants to improve water and sanitation for her entire household, but she has insufficient capital to make it possible. That’s why she is asking for a loan amounting to USD1,500 to build a hygienic latrine and septic tank. Thanks to the water loan program with a special rate offered by Hattha Kaksekar Limited (HKL), Saray is encouraged to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions, to safeguard the health of her family and to protect the environment.
