A loan of $1,050 helped to buy a new sewing machine.

Soatposho's story

Soatposho is a teacher at a high school in the Rudaki district. She lives there with her two sons and daughters-in-law. Her sons are engaged in trade activities and their wives help Soatposho at home. Because teacher salaries are small, she also works as a seamstress and sews traditional dresses to order. Many women in Tajikistan wear both casual and dressy traditional clothing, so many girls and women also learn to sew in order to offer their services sewing traditional clothing. Soatposho is no exception. She wants to take out a loan to buy a new sewing machine because hers is completely outdated and often breaks. She hopes for support so that she will be able to buy a sewing machine and continue working.
