A loan of $375 helped to pay a semester's tuition.

Maria Omayra's story

Maria Omayra is 39 years old and the mother of three children. Her dream is to begin to study to improve herself as a person and to obtain her goal of being someone in life. She wants to study to be an assistant Pharmacist to enter into new fields of employment and expand her knowledge. She wants to become more independent. For her study is a challenge, as with 3 children she doesn't have the resources to do it. But having a loan from Kiva would be of great help to her. She is a woman who likes challenges and has drive and wants to demonstrate it.

Now is the time she sees as good to become a professional, as doing so shows her children and gives an example of how important education is in life. Plus studying to be an assistant pharmacist will help as her work experience is in the health care sector, specifically medicine. So she has a good idea of what she'll see in the course. She knows that this is a technical degree but it is a good start that can push her forward into a professional career. The idea is to keep moving forward, not losing her momentum. She hopes she can realize all her dreams and have history tell the story of her being a professional.
