A loan of $1,700 helped a member buy typical local clothing to sell.

Las Costeñas Group's story

Ana is a single woman 26 years of age who lives with her 2 children in the Department of Suchitepequez. She appears in the center of the photograph wearing a pink blouse.

Ana is an enterprising woman. At present, she buys and sells typical local clothing in her community. Ana comments that she chose this activity because she never had the opportunity to study. But Ana feels happy with her present work because this is where she gets the income that permits her to cover the necessities of her household.

Now Ana has found that the work she does is sufficiently profitable and for that reason, she has decided to form a group that can carry out diverse activities to improve their families' economy.

The loan will be used to purchase typical clothing, thus offering better service to their customers.

Among Ana's dreams is having a store where she can exhibit her goods and thereby improve her family economy and offer a quality education to her children.
