A loan of $1,500 helped to buy supplies and to pay for workers to help with her coffee crop.

Nolvia's story

It was with the help of her first loan that Nolvia bought the supplies and fertilisers she needed to protect her coffee plants from blight and disease that could affect and damage them if not treated in time. She is grateful for the help given by Kiva lenders and the COMIXMUL cooperative. She believes that they are really interested in the well-being and development of every one of the small growers and other borrowers.

Nolvia is now asking for a second loan that will allow her to buy fertiliser and help on her coffee plantation, such as for weeding and clearing and to pay workers to plant new coffee seedlings, as this is what she needs most. With this second loan, she will be able to assure excellent plant protection and production. She will use her profits to repay her loan, improve her living conditions and buy more land to be able to continue planting and re-investing in her business. She hopes to be helped again by lenders.
