A loan of $525 helped to buy agricultural supplies to help her coffee crop.

Rosa Melva's story

Rosa, 26, is a farmer and homemaker. She is married and has two children: the oldest is in school in the community, and the youngest is at home. Rosa only finished four years of primary school. She wasn't able to finish because of lack of financial support from her parents. Her business, the way she bring home income, is planting and harvesting coffee, which is sold near where she lives, through intermediaries and others. She has more than eight years of experience. She learned this work from her husband, who taught her the whole process for getting an excellent coffee production. The land that they work is their own, since they inherited land from parents so that they could work and make money for the wellbeing of her family. The land is 100 meters from where they live, and they get there by walking. Her dreams and goals for the future are to continue expanding her coffee crop, to earn more income each day for her family and for the wellbeing of her children. She has faith in them and hopes that they can be successful people with a great future. Rosa is asking for economic support to be able to buy farm supplies to maintain her coffee crop, since this is the only source of income for her family, so she needs to protect it and keep it healthy for harvest.
