A loan of $1,050 helped to buy rugs and cups.

Nana Siata's story

Nana Siata was born around 1984 in Timbuktu. She is the mother of 5 children and lives in a traditional family in the Heremakono neighborhood to the North of the city of Bougouni (in the third Administrative Region of the Republic of Mali).

She has been in the business of selling rugs and cups for more than 8 years. Her experience in the domain has earned her a good reputation and helped her get orders for rugs and cups. So in order to have the necessary resources to satisfy her customers, she is working with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution.

She is now on her 2nd loan, after having repaid the first one on time. This loan will enable her to buy a large quantity of rugs and cups. She gets her merchandise in Bamako and sells it for cash, retail, and on credit to male and female customers in the different neighborhoods of Bougouni and from her home.

With this loan, she plans on earning an average monthly income of 130,000 CFA Francs. This income will allow her to pay the interest on her loan and to invest the rest in her business.
