A loan of $525 helped to buy pagnes [traditional wrap].

Kadiatou Seydou's story

Kadiatou Seydou was born in 1984 in Bougouni. She is the mother of 2 children and lives in a traditional family in the Torakabougou neighborhood of the city of Bougouni (in the third Administrative Region of the Republic of Mali).

She has been selling pagnes [traditional cloth wraps] for more than 8 years. Her experience in the domain has garnered her a good reputation and helped her get orders for pagnes. So in order to have the necessary resources to satisfy her customers, she is working with the Soro Yiriwaso microfinance institution.

This is her 1st loan. It will enable her to buy 39 lengths of wax cloth pagne. She gets her supplies in Bamako. She sells them for cash to male and female customers at the market and in the different neighborhoods of the city of Bougouni. With this loan, she hopes to earn an average monthly income of 51,000 CFA Francs. This income will allow her to pay the interest on her loan and to invest the rest in her business.
