A loan of $350 helped to purchase sacks of cashew nuts for resale.

Mebakari's story

Mebakari is a married mother of five children who are in school. She owns a house that has neither electricity nor piped water. Her greatest monthly expenses are school fees and food for the family.

Mebakari has operated a cashew nut selling business at the market for the past thirteen years, selling to passersby and neighbours. She cited seasonality as her major challenge in the business.

With the 30,000 Kenyan Shillings (KES) she wants to purchase sacks of cashew nuts for resale. She joined Yehu to boost her business.
