Pao's story

Pao, age 41, is a married woman and a responsible mother of three children. They are employed as garment workers in Phnom Penh. She describes herself as a humble person who operates a rice farm as her major source of income. She has been involved in this occupation for over 26 years. Her income is usually spent on their food expenses, home bills and other commodities.

This will be her first loan and Pao aims to improve sanitation practices for the entire household. Due to the shortage of funds, she has applied for a loan to build a hygienic latrine and a bathroom for her family members. Thanks to the water loan program with a special rate offered by Hattha Kaksekar Limited (HKL), Pao is encouraged to focus on ensuring healthy living conditions, to safeguard the health of her family, and to protect the environment.
