The "pollera" is the typical skirt of many women (Cholitas) in some regions of the country, this is accompanied by shawls and other characteristic accessories depending on the region. This skirt is the main element of business within the association "F. de Loreto". Most of the women in this group sell used skirts and shawls, while others work at setting up the businesses themselves. And others actually knit the shawls, with the help of some family members.
The "F. de Loreto" group belongs to the central region of Los Andes, located in the area of Villa Tunari in the city of Alto.
These women work with the hope of being able to save money in order to buy their own homes (since many are renting), and in turn, bring more conveniences to their children. With this loan they will hire assistants to help them increase their production, which will increase their sales and reap greater profits with the goal of saving for the welfare of their families.

This is a Group Loan

In a group loan, each member of the group receives an individual loan but is part of a larger group of individuals. The group is there to provide support to the members and to provide a system of peer pressure, but groups may or may not be formally bound by a group guarantee. In cases where there is a group guarantee, members of the group are responsible for paying back the loans of their fellow group members in the case of delinquency or default.

Kiva's Field Partners typically feature one borrower from a group. The loan description, sector, and other attributes for a group loan profile are determined by the featured borrower's loan. The other members of the group are not required to use their loans for the same purpose.
