A loan of $1,500 helped to buy agriculture supplies to tend to and prepare her coffee crops.

Ludis Analy's story

Ludis is a farmer and she grows coffee. She also grows corn and beans for consumption in her home. She learned this work when she was very young as her parents worked in this profession all of her life. Ludis is very happy and very satisfied. With the financial support from her first loan, financed by the cooperative Comixmul in partnership with Kiva lenders, she was able to buy various supplies to maintain and care for her coffee plants including cleaning supplies, fertilizer application, foliar feeding, and more. She has seen excellent results in selling the beans to her customers. With this revenue, she hopes to be able to make her payment commitments.

Currently, her farm is a bit deteriorated because cutting out the beans hurts the plant and leaves them weak and exposed. For this reason she is applying for a second loan which she will invest in the purchase of fertilizer, farm clearing, land preparation and others to help improve her production and increase her business. Her greatest dream is to get her high school diploma and be able to complete a university degree so she will feel the pride of her children. She wants to set an example so that they will be professionals. She also has a goal of expanding her business to increase her revenue. She believes that she will improve her coffee farm in planting a variety that is more resistant to existing diseases, such as "el lempira" and "el café 90."
