A loan of $3,725 helped a member to purchase clothing wholesale.

Amazonas Ii Group's story

The communal bank, “Amazonas II” will begin its nineteenth cycle in Pro Mujer, as part of the German Busch regional office. It is composed of nine members and guided by a board of directors, of which Señora Efrena is the president. The members have various businesses such as baby clothing, a tailor shop, vegetable sales, a taxi service, a butcher shop, a quilt shop, a poultry store, and tool sales. The loan that they will receive will benefit the small micro-entrepreneurs where Señora Efrena is a member. She says that she has been a member of Pro Mujer for nine years, joining at the invitation of a friend who is a member of the institution. She has a business selling clothing, and she says that this was a family business that she decided to carry out independently when she got married. The loan that she is receiving is to increase her capital for the purchase of wholesale clothing, which she will acquire in the markets of the city of El Alto and later sell in her sales space. This work allows her to generate income to support her family, as she is married with three children. When she was asked what she likes about Pro Mujer, she responded that she likes the work that they do in her group that the institution offers her.
