A loan of $1,375 helped a member buy fertilizer for crops and stock a home-based variety store.

Unidos Por Fe Group's story

Samuel, 58 years old, is married and has three children. He lives in a neighborhood in the city of Choloma, Cortes. Samuel has 15 years of experience at growing corn, yucca, and plantain on some land that he rents. He sells his produce at a local market. His portion of the loan will be used to buy supplies and fertilizers for his crops which will help him get a better harvest. He will also use part of the loan to stock a variety store that he has in his home that helps him bring in additional income. His goal for the future is to plant oil palm and use his earnings to improve his life.

This is a group loan, and the group is called Unidos por Fe (United by Faith). It is composed of two members: in the picture, Samuel is on the right in the plaid shirt and Domingo is on the left. Both are farmers who live in the same community. They are asking for a total of 27,000 lempiras to fertilize their crops.

In this group: Samuel Lorenzo, Domingo
