Fighting for a better future? We need your help.

Creating a more equitable world takes a lot of time and energy, but at Kiva we’re in it for the long haul. 100% of money lent on Kiva goes to funding loans. That means we rely on donations from people like you to make this work possible. For a limited time, if you donate $35 or more, a $25 bonus will be added to your account (you’ll get an email once it’s there).

La Esperanza Group's story

La Esperanza Group is in its fifth loan cycle in the women's bank program. All the members are receiving training to be able to grow, improve their living conditions, and better manage their loans.

Cornelia's one of the members. She's a very hardworking and self-sacrificing woman who starts her work day very early. She said she sells a variety of dishes that she makes herself and that her customers like a lot. She's well known for her tasty delicacies.

Cornelia's requesting this loan to buy meat, condiments, vegetables, and other ingredients to keep on making her dishes.

She's grateful for this opportunity, which is going to be a big help to her.
