A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase 12 pigs for breeding and sale and feed for the pigs.

Antonieta's story

Antonieta is 42 years old, married, and has eight children of different ages and educational levels. Previously, she focused only on domestic duties and accompanied her husband with agricultural activities. Seeing the difficulty her husband had covering the family's expenses with his income, she started a small breeding business and selling chickens. This has helped to provide her children with an education. She has also bred pigs and has a dairy cow, which she uses to make cheese. She also makes and sells tamales, atol (a beverage made from corn flour), and meals. She is a very enterprising person and her husband admires and appreciates the success she has had with her businesses.

She doesn't have any formal education, but she has succeeded thanks to her effort. She has also taken advantage of all of the opportunities that she has had. With this loan, she wants to invest in pigs and feed, which will provide her with very good earnings. Her dream is to see that her children have a good education, become professionals with successful careers, and are good people.
