A loan of $1,200 helped to purchase additional rice, sugar, oil, and dairy products to boost her store's inventory.

Amparo's story

Amparo has lived for over 12 years in San Lorenzo. She is 51 and lives with her husband, four children, and two grandchildren. Amparo cares for her family and manages her business (a grocery store). Her husband helps her sell groceries at the store and care for their grandchildren.

Amparo is an energetic, entrepreneurial and optimistic woman. She will use funds from this loan to purchase additional rice, sugar, oil and dairy products to boost her store's inventory.

The members of Amparo's family are all in good health and the youngest children attend school. Amparo takes great pride in having met her family's needs and offered them a better life. She is grateful for the help of FODEMI [Fondo de Desarrollo Microempresarial, Microenterprise Development Fund] and the anonymous lenders who loan money to strangers so that these small business entrepreneurs can work. Amparo would like to thank Kiva lenders for their support.
