A loan of $525 helped to buy fertilizers and to pay laborers.

Melvin Isidro's story

Melvin is 27 years old, he is in a common-law marriage relationship, and he lives with his partner, his parents and his two children in the village of El Negrito, Yoro. He has been engaging in growing his own rice crops for 5 years, having helped his father growing basic grains while he was still a student. He sells his rice crops in other towns away from his hamlet. He is requesting a loan of 10,000 HNL that he will use to purchase fertilizers and to pay laborers who will pour them out. This method will help him succeed in improving his production. His goal is to expand the land of his crop by one manzana (one manzana = 1.68 acres*) and to succeed in having his home built.
