Allah Rakhi's story

Allah Rakhi is a 60-year-old married woman living in the area of Lahore, Pakistan with her family. Her husband has been running a small general store at the corner of his house for many years. He also assists his son with purchasing stocks of goods from the market, as he has maintained many contacts over the years.

She is a mother of seven children and motivated to provide her family with good quality food, clothing, and health expenses. Her son has been learning the art of dealing with the customers, products rates, and how to tackle the customers, from his father. She thinks that now her son can handle all affairs alone; so she decided to set up a separate shop for her son.

Therefore, she has requested a loan for her son from Kiva's field partner, BRAC Pakistan, so he can buy initial stocks of rice, sugar, cooking oil, detergent, soap and biscuits. She is an honest and a regular client of BRAC Pakistan. She is in her fifth loan cycle with good repayment history. She is expecting a boost in earnings, and dreams of expanding the business further in the future. She is very thankful to Kiva's field partner, BRAC
