Nazim's story

Nazim is 56 years old and married with a son and three daughters. He and other members of his family are refugees and live in an IDP (internally displaced person) settlement.

He is a farmer and has gained good experience working in this field for 30 years. He raises greens and other sorts of seasonal vegetables and sells them at the local bazaar. His monthly income is 150 AZN.

People prepare different delicious dishes using fresh vegetables. They also like to cook fried vegetables like pomidor dolmasi and badimcan dolmasi. Nazim’s grocery is very popular because everybody knows that his vegetables are always fresh and were raised without any pesticides.

Unfortunately, Nazim’s income isn’t enough to cover his family’s cost of living. He needs money to provide for his children's education. He also wants to repair his old house.

He applied for a 2,000 AZN loan in order to buy new varities of vegetable seeds and increase his harvest. He hopes that the expansion of his small business will provide a good income to cover his family’s financial demands.
